Audi A3 weight reduction for autocross/road racing
Im looking for a company or custom shop that can manufacture fiberglass/carbon/kevlar roof for my 2006 Audi A3. Currently, my A3 has an opensky roof system and is made out of a very heavy glass. I'm looking to replace this glass with lighter material for weight reduction. I would like to point out that I'm serious about my hobby in autcrossing and looking for more go than show. Also, price is of no concern at the moment. Please refrain from comments of whats ricey and whats not ricey. I would really appreciate anyones help. Again I am looking for a company that makes or is capable of making a lightweight roof material for my 2006 Audi A3 opensky. Thanx

More than enough work and fine tuning has been performed on the motor and suspension setup of the A3 to perform at its peak level without sacrificing reliability to meet the demands of autocross racing. Again, this car is being purpose built solely for autocross sessions where everything has to be balanced appropriately for its task, specifically time attack. Perhaps, I should've been clearer on my goal. Through chassis lightening I'm looking to improve 1. power:weight ratio, 2. improve overall weight distribution (currently 58/42 weighed and corner balanced for 150lb driver on FF vehicle), and 3. increasing overall speed and responsiveness through corners and corner exits. I am open for suggestions/discussions. Educated comments are more than welcome, anything less please refrain from posting.

what about suspension? new coilovers? would increase cornering. and im not sure where you could get a different roof. and i guess just taking it off would lose aerodynamics and would defeat the purpose. sorry i cant be of more help
