Default Early to mid 90's 240SX vs. 4.2

So, I am on my way to work and I am running late to a early morning meeting due to a bad traffic accident on the highway. I get off on some side streets as I know a route I call the "Sneak Atack." I am not driving like an *******, but I am trying to get there if ya know what I mean. I pull up to a light and sitting next to me is a young kid in a 240 SX. It was completely debadged and looked to be in fairly good condition. I could tell he had an exhaust, possibly a CAI and from the sound of the revving, a small turbo. This 2 lane intersection we are sitting at turns into1 lane after about 75yards or so, andI am sitting in the far right knowing I have to merge. I wasn't interested in racing this kid asI just wanted to get to work.I knew I had toget over so when the light turned green I got on it a little, not floored, but just to get over. This kid floors it. I was almost in third gearand he is winding the **** out of his car. He pinched me offso hard I had to hit the brakes, and thats when I got pissed. I follow him on this one lane road for about 2 miles and then the road splits off to 2 lanes again. We come to another light and this kid is yelling at me telling me my car sucks and AUDI isn't all that. Jesus....I am 33 years old, and an enthusiast, but my street racing days are long gone. I keep it strictly to the track. So, this kid keeps excercising his piehole so now of course...ITS ON!! I asked the kid if he wanted to put his $$ where his mouth is? He saidno, so I dropped to his level and called him a loudmouth little ***** that was going to get spanked like a little bitch when the light goes green. Guess what happened next? HE GOT SPANKED LIKE A LITTLE BITCH WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN.....by3 car lengths coming out of first gear. ****** wasa distant memory come 3rd gear. It was fun....and it reminded me of the good old days. HAHAHAH..just thought I'd share.

A CAI with a turbo on those car's are pointless. They do nothing. The air wouldnt be directed into the turbo, thus providing nothing extra. Sound perhaps, but none-the-less. I've been in the 240sx scene for about 2 years now, and their reputation is absolutely horrible. Punk *** kids with more mouth than brains. Although, some of the 240's are 400whp+, VERY rarely do you see one. They are a low budget car and easy to mod. Thats it. Nice burn though.

Cheers Mate,

Haha.. I doubt he had a turbo.. cause a Sr20 engine can make those 13 second cars. right? Which would put him in your league.. i think.

But beating a lightly modded, near stock 240 is always fun, but not impressive with a 4.2 a6[&:]

HAHAHAH..I posted this some time ago...Yeah..never bragged about it to anyone because it was really was no contest and nothing worth mentioning to anybody. I have come across some fast little Datsuns..oops..rather Nissan that are fairly quick. You never know what someone has under the hood so thats why I did it. I found out quickly the kid was full of S***!. With my exhaust, I can hit right under a 6 second 0-60 time and the little import didnt stand a chance.

I miss my 1970 Datsun 240 Z...light....handled like it was on rails and pushed 235-40 ish at the rear wheels weighing in at 2300lbs. with me in it. That would give the A6 a run for sure. A guy down my street has a mint 1972 and I so badly want to ask him if he will sell it to me. He will prollysay no..anyways......

Yeah..you would have dug it...it was a 280z motor (2.8 liter) with a polished and ported high compression E-31 head...bored .30 over with flat top pistons. I had a phase 2 street cam with a full mallary ignition system. I replaced the dual SU (stock carbs) with side draft webers. It had a full tuned exhaust, header into 2.5 inch pipe, a 24" resonator, and a 2 chamber flow master. It was lumpy at idle and people always though it was a v8. It was lowered with coil overs and 1" 3/4 sways front and rear with solid motor and tranny mounts. Poly bushings and bearings were all race spec and it sat on 50 series yokohamas with 16" BBS wheels. Car was set up for autocross and was wicked quick. I had a 3:9 rearend so 75mph was max speed at 3200 RPM. The car ran with 911's and consistently embarassed the new imports. Fun car. I had 15k into the whole deal. Very very fun and I definitely want to have another one. They are getting tough to find in decent shape now.....Good memories!
