2004 A6 2.7t Suspension Advice
Howdy AudiForums,
Suspension advice needed,
Best I can tell is that my 2004 A6 2.7t (95,000 mls) needs new struts/shocks (suspension). She seems to be hitting every bump in the road, lurches forward when breaking and also has somewhat of the so called busted shocks "bounce".
Recently, (about 5 K ago), the wear on my tires seemed to really excelerate and the ride just seems to be way off performance wise, in fact a had one of them go (shred/blow) out while I was on a long didtance and I had just rotated them.
Some questions I have are; How do I know its not just control arms, tie rod ends, etc and not the struts/shocks. BTW, this is the suspension that were there when I purchased the car last year at 59,000 miles.
The current struts are dark red in color which I've been told is the sport struts for the 2.7t model.
What replacement struts I should look at (are stock the best way to go)
what other item should be replaced at the same time
what total costs should I expect (parts/labor or do it myself?)
All/any suggestions are appreciated.
