2001 TT Quattro cv shaft replacement
Does anyone know whether an alignment is required after cv shaft replacement on this car? I was told a slotted front end control bar has to be removed and the car realigned after cv shaft replacement. but, 3 different places told me no, it does not have anything to do with the alignment. Can anyone help?

The lower control arm is attached to the upright with three screws in slotted holes. Before removing these three bolts, scribe carefully around the washers so as to replace exactly on the scribe mark.
Even tho you do this, the alignment might not have been previously correct. Check the wear patterns on the tires or if you have a digital level use it for camber settings.
Keep in mind you will need to use a new hub bolt in any case.
