i want to lower my b5 and replace the wheels and tires.i dont have unlimited funds so one will take place a month before the other.
should i get the wheels and tires replaced first or lower the b5 first.
i;am thinking 17in wheels
any ideas?

depends on what size tires too to know if your going to have clearance.. How much you going to lower it?

1.5 inches?
i'am not sure yet.
it's a daily driver but i,am also looking for better handling

you could lower first.. i dont think you would have a problem with scraping.. just dont go cheap and cut corners (or springs)
