I've got a 2000 A6 4.2, Quattro with 130k miles. Had a defective tire a few weeks ago so had the shop put the spare on. At the time the shop told me I needed a new CV joint but nothing urgent. Yesterday my car went into limp mode, code P0730. Now the shop I limped to (not my normal shop) says I need a whole new tranny because they can't get it out of limp mode. The car is not worth the cost of a new tranny. Is it possible that a low atf level and or different tires could cause the incorrect gear ratio code?
