Lowering Springs VS. Coilovers

From day 1 of owning my audi i knew i wanted to lower it. Ive been going back and forth between springs and coilovers for a month, ive read forums here were somone swears by springs and the next guy swears by coilovers in the next post.
So basically i was hoping i could get some feed back from both sides here.

-The thing with coilovers is im not going to be adjusting them and they are not as friendly to my wallet as springs.

-And the thing with springs is ive herd they are hard on your struts and cause a rough ride. (Absolutley do not want a rough ride)

Any help in pushing me in the right direction would be great!
just a thought, im sure alot of people have gone through the "what one to get phase" so a sticky of pros and cons for both woud be helpful!

TIA!:)

if u get springs only u will evetually have to replace your struts as they will blow in no time. All in all struts and springs runs somewhere near 5 to 6 hundred. U can get a nice coilover kit for about 200 more. And have the adjustability factor. So it all boils down to preference.

Thanks. I'm assuming you have coil overs then? What kind, what did they cost, and how do you like them if I may ask?

I am running H&R springs and the ride is pretty good. If you go really low with springs, you may have strut/shock and ride quality issues. If your drop is less than 2 inches, you will be fine w/o replacing your struts/shocks

i have tein ss coilovers. The right is very comparable to stock. Ive ridden in quiet a wide variety of eurpoean cars that have been lowerd wether it be from springs or coils and let me tell u this is one of the smoother setups. Granted i swapped out my rear struts for konis sport strut. But never the less very smooth. i got a used kit off a guy on audizine for around 6 or 7. Retail on the kit is over 1000. as for the spring option depending on how many miles your struts have on them and how aggressive you plan on dropping the car will affect the life of the struts. In my case i had springs on and blew my stock sturts within a month. Though my car has over 120k on it.
