Trying to diagnose clunking from the front
#11
In conclusion it was two upper control arms that were badly worn. I ended up replacing all 4 just to make sure. No more clunking!! I got them from this place for an awesome price and they even have a 1 yr. warranty. I highly recommend them. Check it out!

I get a clunking especially when pulling up a hill on a left hand bend. I checked and the left inner cv joint is very loose and rattly. The boot looks fine but the joint is definitely knackered. It doesn't seem to have got any worse in the last couple of years but I will tackle it one of these days.

what kind of clunking is it cause I have a clunking sound in first and about a quarter way through second, I noticed today while lowering my car that my rotor on my front drivers side is really loose and has alot of room to move around but doesnt seem like the source of my clunkage.

upper control arms
I had the exact same problem ,jack the car up grab the tire and move it from side to side and watch your upper control arms, if you have any play then they need to be replaced. About $160 for 4 new upper arms and easy to do your self, and well worh it I did it yester day.Man what a diference but go get a full alinment when all done took me about 4 hours to do,good luck.
