Can I use VAG-COM to disable antitheft feature on navi dvd?

Hi.

I have a 2007 A6 with MMI. I am considering getting a VAG-COM.

Is it possible to unlock the antitheft on the navi dvd with the VAG-COM? If so, how to do it?

One more thing: How to check which MMI version I have, 2G or 3G?

Thanks :)

You should be able to unlock the eject button using your scanner. Technically, that's supposed to be done when the car is new as part of the predelivery process. The anti-theft is mainly for the crew on the ship and the transport truck drivers between the factory and the dealership.......so the DVD doesn't "go missing". If I remember correctly, you go to
"Navigation" and then "Lock/unlock eject button" Not familiar with a VAG-COM but I assume it's similar to the Audi/VW scan tools as far as format.

You will have 2G MMI. 3G came along in '09. If I'm mistaken on this somebody PLEASE correct me!

Got myself a VAG-COM and did manage to unlock the Navi dvd. It was easy:

In VAG-COM: Go to Navigation module, 10-adaption. Choose channel 68, read it, and then change to new value: 1 (button inactive)

I have the 2G MMI.:)

Thank you Aspen79:cool:
