311.2 and 409.1 are the only two available versions that work with non-ross tech cables. anything higher you need an original cable.

because maybe someone will buy the most expensive one thinking they are getting more - Hell, when I purchased mine I calculated everything out - I ended up buying one that was selling in Euro's and it calculated out ot only be $18.?? - all the same cable just find the cheapest price+shipping

 

Those you posted should work fine they are the same cable that I got. Just be sure to download drivers from his site. He has the links listed in the auctions and mine works with the 409.1 Vag-Com software.

My vagcom is an ebay cable with the 409 software. Works great for my B5 and already saved a ton of money with it.

 

Hey guy who couldn't get this to work, and anyone who searches for this in the future, the default com settings on those drivers above put your USB cable as COM5. You need to go into hardware settings and change it to COM1-4 (whatever's available) to use it with vagcom, and select the appropriate COM port on the VAGCOM interface.
