Im using it on my car, of course. Its a 00, but that doesnt matter. Vag com will work with any 96+ OBDII Audi/Vw.
Im a little confused about what you are doing to get it to work. If you have the USB adapter drivers installed, go into windows device settings and assign port 3 to your USB adapter. Select com port 3 in vag com and see what happens.

409 and 311 will work on cars prior to 02 because that's when CAN became involved so some 02 cars it works but around 02.5 it all changed,
there are 3 different cables KEY/micro/hex+
KEY is the eBay type,
MICRO is semi pro and backward compatible with the older cars,
HEX is for 02.5 upward and pro series software 709 release and dosnt work with the other connectors,
so it could be his 02 car is the later type and needs HEX 709

this reply is disappointing and makes me wonder if anyone understands me ( especially from a moderator ) which is disrespectful to say the least so ill now consider if its worth me staying on this site if that's what you think
