The ECT (on chevies anyway) can make the motor think it is operating at -99 degrees, and cause them to run incredibly rich. As far as audis, I cannot be sure.

Default RE: misfire CELs

i cleared all codes, most were probably just old stored ones, but the misfires keep coming back....i started to check the live view data log while idling / driving and noticed that my timing at idle is EXTREMELY sporadic and bouncy... it honestly goes like "6.4...2.1....14.3....11.2...15.8...8.2...0.4...14 .2" and so forth

is there an option to use to save a log in VAG-COM software?

anyways...i think that could be causing my intermittent misfiring issues

anyone have anything to suggest?

also - idle is roughly 800-920, it bumps around, but i think thats due to the cams

1st log is for timing, viewing Blocks 02, 03, and 18

If the engine is still running strong and your registering miss-fires on all your cylinders your probably looking at a faulty CTS (coolant temp sensor) as hiwords said. Replace that and erase the fault codes. If that doesn't fix it, i would be looking at your mods. It might have too large of injectors forthe ECM's programming, or a miss-matched MAF sensor ect.

hey thanks,

in my first post i have what has already been replaced:

coil packs, spark plugs, ICM, and CTS/ECT have all been replaced already

i have stock injectors....270 degree piper cams...borla catback....GIAC chip....SARD FPR set at 5 bar

engine running VERY strong...it has only 5000ish miles on the rebuilt motor...misfires on all cyls at idle, no misfires while driving

mismatched MAF sensor??? how would it be mismatched?
