P0117 Confusing me. PLEASE HELP
Took my a4 b5 in last week (1998 1.8t) because it was overheating. Problem was waterpump had gone and peices went through coolant lines and broke thermostat.
I had the water pump, thermostat and fan clutch replaced which fixed the problem. I am now getting the code p0117 Engine Coolant Temperature Circut low. This has me confused and pretty rattled after spending all the money to fix the problem. Not exactly a cheap fix for an 18 year old.. The gauge on the dash shows temperature normal as well as oil temp normal. Car has been driving fine. Any ideas? I'm stumped. |
Replace coolant temp sensor, cheap, clean coolant temp sensor connector, cheap, check wires running from connector as far back as you easily can, replace any bad wiring properly, cheap, also have you had the gauge cluster out? I had voltage related issues due to plugs in back of cluster not seated correctly, so if you have be sure to check those, cheap, check all fuses in car and engine bay, doesnt hurt annnnd cheap
