Which VAG-COM to buy?

I think it's time to try and solve my problems with a VAG-COM. But before I do, I want to make sure I get the right one.... Ross Tech currently has three on offer.... the original discontinued model, a wireless version - and this one:

It's the cheapest so I want to make sure that it will do the job. I have a 2007 A4 cabriolet.

Thanks in advance for the help.

That's the one I bought. I think you should be fine as long as you don't want to work on more cars than it allows. Or if you do, worst case is you have to upgrade.

That's the one I bought. And the people who staff the tech support line are very knowledgeable and helpful.

I bought the original USB/Dongle version several years ago, and it has served me well. (At one time we had four VW/Audi cars in the extended family, now down to three.)

When my 2001 Passat wagon failed smog because the technician could not communicate with the engine control module, Uwe Ross and I exchanged a few cordial and helpful emails. It turns out that, contrary to the smog tech's experience, a flaky ABS control module, which I knew I had, can interfere with some OBD-II connections. My VCDS worked fine with the car, although it refused to clear DTCs (there is a hint), but the smog center's computer could not communicate at all. I installed a used ABS module, checked for a full set of readiness codes on the VCDS, and passed smog handily.

Yes, you can buy other scan tools, but I really like RossTech's customer service and specific and deep Audi/VW knowledge.
