VAG-COM Capabilities
 

Bought a "new" 06 A6 Avant, planning on buying VCSD/VAG-COM very soon.

In the meantime I need to get my car through state inspection and was told there's no "candlepower" in my headlights. I know they emit PLENTY of light, but after some research I learned what this really means is the headlights aren't focused correctly on the right target.

I'm thinking this might be related to a failure in the adaptive headlamp system, and was wondering if this is something that would show up in VAG-COM (or maybe even OBD-II)? I have no MMI warnings, and no MIL.

Still doing research on other threads, but thought I'd toss this out there.

It depends on why it isn't working, if there is a problem with the controls or the system, then it would show up in the VCDS. If the mounts are bad and it's simply loose, then the system could be working electronically and in actuality be non-functional.
