Default vagcom and service manual

Is the bentley manual the best to work with along side the vag com or is there a better service manual?

Bentley is the ONLY (<notice bold and underlined) service manual. You can pick up a Haynes repair manual but they all the photo's that are taken are from a passat not an A4. also the Haynes is more general and the diagrams are inexistent. Bentley covers (almost) everything you will ever need to know about your car. don't waste your money on the Haynes go with the Bentley.

If you just wondering about working with the VAG-COM then you don't need a manual just search the internet for codes and explanations.

Haynes isnt bad. Its very straight forward and clear for basic things. The A4 is on the same chasis as the passat, so most all parts and procedures will be the same. If youre a beginner, maintnence wise, i would start out with a Haynes and move up to a Bently. The vag tool that the bently manual refers to is not vag com on a lap top, so procedures are different. Like ^ said, use the net for vag com procedures.
