1997 Audi A4 2.8 L Quatro Price Reduced for Quick Sale.
We have sold our house and the Audi must be sold. Price reduced for quick sale!!!!
It is a Silver 1997 Audi A4 sedan. It has a 2.8 V6 single overhead cam engine. The transmission is a 5 speed stick. It is AWD. The Audi is located in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, IL
The car was purchased used from Heiser Chevrolet in Milwaukee in May of 2005. It had approximately 132,000 miles on the odometer. I am the third owner. I purchased the Audi for my son to drive to class and to work. Shortly after getting the car he broke his left leg in a moptorcycle accident and was unable to drive a stick shift car for over a year; so my wife took it over as her daily driver. Yes, I can honestly say this car was driven by a grey haired old lady who drove it to her high school teaching job in Waukegan IL. The car was retired from day to day service in August of 2016 when my wife purchased a Subaru Forester.
The Audi needed rear brakes and we started the repair and then quit. The car sat in the garage for over a year and we have decided to sell it as we are moving to Santa Fe, NM and our driveway is steep and rutted. The Audi would not clear the bumps!
The car has always been well maintained. I have a lift in the garage and routine maintenance including all oil changes were performed at home. I have a complete record of all dates and mileage for the oil changes. Synthetic oil was used for all oil changes and at most of them Lucas Synthetic oil stabilizer was substituted for one quart of oil.
Most of the mechanical repairs were done at Golz Motors in Deerfield. They are foreign car specialists. I have all service receipts for the car. I have the receipts for all parts purchased for the Audi as well. Presently the Audi has approximately 248,100 miles on it. It is a good solid well maintained Audi. Like any daily driver it has some minor cosmetic flaws. The worst being the drives seat is showing wear. It has never been in a collision. All the accessories (power seat, power windows, power sun roof and air conditioning) work.
The Audi is a good car. There is no crash damage. It was well taken care of and all the service receipts are available for your perusal.
I have one reconditioned kidney bean alloy wheel refurbished by Wheels America. See photo.
The car is shod with Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread tires. If you have driven an AWD car with these tires you know what a treat they are in rain, sleet and snow. OEM tread depth is 11/32". The tires measure 9/32" REAR and 5/32" FRONT.
A new clutch was installed at 199,000 miles. Golz said they replaced the original clutch! Just before the Audi was retired it got a new alternator.
As the Audi sits the rear brakes are not functioning. It cannot be driven. The rear brakes must be repaired. I have a garage account with Car Quest and I can aid you in getting the parts at repair shop pricing. I have a set of new rear pads. The two rotors, two calipers and two short rear brake hoses total $413.00 plus sales tax. If you return the calipers for credit ($75.00 ea $150.00 for the pair), the parts will cost $262.00 plus tax.
E-mail me for more photos.
I live on private roads and I can drive the car (slowly & carefully) in the neighborhood.
The Audi is priced low for quick sale @ $1,700.00 with the spare rim. $1,600 without the spare rim. The title is clear. I paid cash for the car originally.
