Basically I wanted to know what electronics are not working. Cruise control, sunroof, heated seats, power seats, windows, does the radio sound good still, antilock brakes, etc? Climate control? Does it leak anything? Do the brakes feel good? Suspension need new bushings anywhere? I have a 200 turbo and the suspension is full of loose bushings and the brakes are soft.
Do you have any pics?
How bad is the windshield cracked? I dont want to offer over 200 bucks if it needs a new windshield right away, there is one for sale in boston right now that needs nothing for a grand.

Let me know,
Mark

The car has been sitting in the garage for about 2 years while we worked on a variety of projects. The windshield needs to be replaced before it will pass inspection. As far as I know all the electrics work but can’t guarantee it.

My plan was to use it as a daily driver when (and if) my 89 200 Quattro turbo failed but the 200 has proven to be like the Energizer Bunny – It just keeps going and going and going and going. It has 308K miles and I add 100 miles per day on 495 at 10 to 85 MPH depending upon what the other dummies are doing. I just got my wife a new van thus her A6 has become the back-up car and the 90 is taking up space.

If I keep writing about how good Audis are I’ll convince myself to keep the 90. After all it fits right in with my daughter’s VW Passat wagon which is an A4 in disguise. I guess 3 and 1/2 Audis, a new van and a pickup makes me a certified nut case. The one in Boston for $1,000 sounds like a good deal -- if it is in good shape. Go for it before I forget that I’m out of room and try to add it to my collection.

Bill

The guy in Boston didn’t get back to me so I’ve placed the info here so others can see it if you decide to get the other car.

The 90 Quattro was purchased about 3 years ago as fun project for my son and me. It was in good shape except for a few small items. As we got into it we felt that the head gasket was questionable (possible water leak to the outside) so we replaced the gasket and did the timing belt, water pump etc. It needs a windshield and tires. Other wise it is a great car.

Then we decided that it would make a good back-up car for my work that is about 50 miles away and a few other projects came along like the Acura for the drag strip etc. We start it every few weeks to get it warm and drive it in the drive way to keep things lubricated. It is not registered.

As I said I need the room for the A6 so a reasonable offer is all I neeed.
