WTB 97 A4 motor or S4 motor
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi, here is the deal I have a friend giving me one of his 97 A4's it just needs a motor. He said a 1.8T motor AED is what I need or a S4 2.7TT motor would fit.
Can Some one please help me out with a motor. The car is for my wife she needs a 4 door cause the baby is coming in December. I'm trying to sale my honda prelude on the prelude forum.

I would suggest just staying away from the 2.7tt S4 motor as thats a big job and if not done right is mort trouble than its worth!
But if your up to it I have a S4 parts car comming in next week.

Why do you say its a big job? He said you have to move the motor mounts but thats about it, it should drop right in and plug right up. But how would you want for that S4 motor?

Its not for the weak hearted. Yes bome B5 A4's cme with V6 motors but there are some differences like cooling system and hoses, AC lines, PS lines, fuel lines. But yea the simple part is dropping in the motor wiring harness and computer from the S4 will run it but its easier to go from V6 to V6 1.8T to V6 just requires a lot more stuff. I would just do a 1.8t and call it a day but thats me.
