B5 S4 for the Audinam?
so i've been thinking, should i go for a B5 S4?
as much as i love my A6 4.2....... I miss the fun of driving a lighter car with a Manual gearbox.
if i did my math right, i bought by A6 at $12K, put $5K into wheels, tires, timing belt and suspension. If i sell it for at least $18K, i'd be a happy camper, and KBB price is at $19.5K.
I miss having a Manual, I miss having a lighter car, i miss having a TURBO!!!!
I've searched and found a few B5 S4's for $11K, that leaves me $7K to play around with, and i know that'll go quick too.
what do you guys think?
either way, i'll be happy with either car

I would probably only drive another tiptronic Audi if it was an RS6... so i don't blame you there for wanting another manuel.... if you couldcome out witha B5 S4 and money to play with, you might be an extremely happy camper... (ko4!)
.. i love your a6 to death though... black...just gorgeous.. lovin some of those rolling shots we got

Hmm... your having second thoughts! Just as I predicted since I told u before the a6 might not be the ideal car for you. Come to the H world... we have exactly what your looking for... lighter, manual tranny, smaller.
Turbo sold separately....

Cough^ ..overpriced boringass interior.. oh sorry i do like 2000's but they are priced like a luxury coupe with the features of an astrovan.
Come on Nam! ya gas is getting a little expensive but you rep one of the nicest a6's out there, are you sure wanna risk it going to some poser who wont appreciate those nice fender rolls?
Although, S4 would be much more "FUN" you could go for something top knotch with the weight of an a6 to throw around at a car lot.

^ actually S2K's (FJ) prices are gettin pretty low. there's some under $17k with under 50k miles. that's pretty good!
i wouldn't mind owning an S2 but at the same time... not the ideal car for me [&o]. maybe for the gf since she wants one so bad
maintenance wise, audi's are pieces of ****. aesthetically, audi's are grade A and come with alot of prestige owning one.

don't get me wrong, i LOVE my A6, although i haven't taken it to a canyon run yet... heck, i don't think i'm ready for a canyon run in ANY car yet.
the Tiptronic does a pretty decent job, it's gun from the start pretty well,
gas milage doesn't change between the 4.2L A6 and the B5 S4, they're both avg 17-24 mpg
I took a hard left turn at 5mph, and with the tires and quattro and the weight, the car just stuck to the ground easily without tires squeeling
just a few questions...
1) not planning on having a family for the next 4 years, so do i really need that big of a car?
2) I don't drive the way i used to anymore, so does it really matter if i need two turbos or not?
Sorry Richard, Hondas are out of the question, especially S2k's, i need my 4 doors and rear passenger seats
and if i sell it for at least $18K, i'll have plenty of $ to do chip, suspenion, wheels, tires, sway bars, and DP all in one shot, and WHEN the turbo blows, i'll jus go for bigger turbos...... that is if the engine doesn't blow first....
although i'll be giving up a great A6... and driving a B5 will just make guys next to me try to race all the time.....
I mean.... either decision, i'll win, no doubt about it.
i think it's just down to the gearbox eh?.........
