Tire rack is a great company but lately I have been able to get some great deals from discount tire. I am currently running Nitto 555s.

You're experiencing something pretty common with those Pirellis; short life and LOUD as they wear. I ran a couple of other tires on my A4 and was very happy with the improvements over the OE tire (which was a Goodyear RS-A). The Continental Extreme Contact DWS was a great pick and very comfortable with some stellar snow traction. The Michelin Pilot Sport AS+ was my favorite on the vehicle. Much sportier than the Conti and very good traction all around.
