strange orange stain on wheels?
 

recently bought an 08 audi a4 first time cleaning the wheels and discovered an odd orange stain? haven't seen this before and wonder if its a common thing for these wheels or maybe a product. the wheels were really dirty which covered the stain. if anyone has any information that would be very helpful

Probably rust stains from either the hubs or wheel bearing (dust) cover or even the discs which rust just standing idle. I always paint my hubs from new and cover the dust in coppaslip to stop this.:)

appreciate the response, what products do you use to coat the surface

thats the best response I've Heard, makes a lot of sense, would using a lightly abrasive pad to remove it, be to aggressive?
