Unhappy Check Coolant Warning

I've had my 2014 A5 for 4 years and 11 months. "Turn off engine and check coolant level" EPC light keeps coming on. It doesn't stay on long, but then it may or may not reappear after a while. Coolant level is full, no apparent leaks and temperature gauge is in the middle. Dealer claims it's a faulty coolant reservoir, therefore entire reservoir needs to be replaced otherwise sensor will keep going off even if reset. There is also a new recall on Audi for coolant pumps overheating. My questions are: 1. Could this be an issue with the coolant pump rather than reservoir, therefore should have the pump replaced via the latest recall or previously related software recall? (Although Audi is saying they don't have a remedy yet, The Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration - NHTSA.gov - says they should replace the pumps until there is a remedy); and 2. Is it common for an Audi of this young age to start having faulty parts or equipment and sensor issues? Unfortunately, these "small" components are not covered under my extended warranty.
