fail: peeled off stock windscreen tint layer by accident?!
Hi everyone
so.. on a hot summer's day I put a reflector up under my windscreen. I happened to have a phone holder with a suction cup right on the windscreen as well. By the end of the day, the suction cup being black and all, it had absorbed twice the amount of heat - direct sunlight and reflected sunlight from the reflector and basically melted against the windscreen.
I pulled most of it off by hand but it left a ring of melted rubber that held on really tight. so I thought a combo of razor and adhesive removed was a great idea....... and basically was left with a peeled windscreen layer on the inside.
I think it's beyond fixing.
but would like to see if anyone actually know what this layer is? guessing it's part of the polarization?
I'll try to take a pic and share. but you can imagine like if you had tinted your windows and then cut a hole through the tint with a razor.
