Trunk Won't Latch

In my case the trunk would not latch. After pulling the liner off and inspecting, it appeared that the manual "I'm stuck inside the trunk" lever was continuously engaged, perhaps the linkage arm had been bent. No degree of adjusting the linkage helped, I disconnected the manual release, and immediately the latch worked. I hope I never get stuck in the trunk!

Default Replaced trunk latch

Hello I just replaced the trunk latch on my 2005 Audi A6 Quattro bit now it will not latch. We've adjusted the bar to no avail and used WD 40. What other suggestions do you have?

The latch on the trunk lid commonly malfunctions electrically, just replace the latch. Its easy to change, pry off the trim panel and take out the two screws, pop off the two 10mm nuts holding the latch on and take off the cables.
