2026 SQ7 cutover to PPE platform
The coming entirely new SQ7 for 2026 will be based upon the new PPE platform. It’s not clear when in 2026 (or early 2027) this will become available in the US. This timing aligns with when I expect to be in the market to replace my current 2018 SQ5. The big question I keep asking myself is whether I wait for the new PPE-based SQ7 to be introduced to be more “future proof” for such an expensive purchase … but at the cost of a higher MSRP? Or, do I watch for a smoking deal on a 2025 or early 2026 MLB Evo based SQ7 as they close out the lifespan of that model, and just tolerate the fact that it is an end-of-life model that won’t get much in future SW updates? What I’m eventually looking for is something just a bit bigger than my SQ5, but still a solid performance based long-haul road car that can also tow moderate loads (like a motorcycle trailer, or small camper) occasionally. There’s still no news on a PPE-based SQ8, so I don’t even know if that will be an option.
