So I open my door to step out of my car the other day and it clunks and moves around a little. So i kneeled down and started looking around, opening and closing the door probably half a dozen times, trying to hear exactly where the clunk was coming from. Turns out it was a loose bolt on the door hinge, an easy fix with the right torx key. So I tighten the bolt, close the door, only to find that during the process of fixing the clunk, ( i assume when i was opening and closing the door) i did this... =(

The point of this thread is this.. is this the sort of thing that i can pry off, repaint, and 3M back on? Is this an easy trim piece to come by? What do you guys think?

 

I just realized that the angle of this shot isn't very good. The door trim is bent, and the paint has started to peel along the bend. In this picture it sort of looks like its missing. My bad!

 

your gunna need a new one just cause getting it off w/o bending it is not easy. once its bent the paint will crack or chip. its probably easier and not much more expensive to just get another one thats prepainted and just throw it on there.

 

also from the pic it looks like your door gap is not even at all, that could be the main source of your problems if thats how it is.

 

yea i agree if u follow the gap towards the bottom it looks like its touching. your door looks like it needs to be re hung

 

Thats a good point i'll have to go out tomorrow morning and look a little closer at that. You guys think this is the sort of thing i can find on Ebay? or should i start rummaging through a junk yard?

 

its probably 10 bucks at a junkyard or maybe 30 on ebay. have you ever hit anything with the front of your car? it seems like the front quarter pannel was pushed back which closed the gap between the door and pannel.

if you cant find it on a junkyard check out shokan.com they probably have one in your color too.

 

I've never hit anything, but I was a little bit suprised that the door bolts came loose. I was thinkin maybe someone took the door off for whatever reason and did a half-a$$ed job putting it back on.

I'll look around on Ebay and if nothin there i'll try a junk yard. Thanks guys!
