Default Intro and newb questions!

Hi, my name is ali and i just bought an 1997 a4 quattro as my daily driver. So far its been doing a good job but yesterday my front driver's side brake started popping really loud and they will literally grind to a halt at every stop. I checked the caliper and it looks like the pad isn't seated correctly. I was planning on buying all new rotors and pads anyways but ive got a couple of questions.

I tried search so don't taze me bro.

will this front rotor and pad kit work with a 1997 quattro?

It specifies that it is only for the fwd models but im not really sure if thats accurate or not unless the calipers are different. Im trying to find a cheap solution to my problem since i already have a project car.

Welcome, and no, don't get that. For one, the hubs might be different on fwd vs awd which might affect rotor fitment. The pads might be alright, but those rotors are promised to be the cheapest of the cheap and probably won't hold up for much longer than the 1yr waranty. By that I mean the heat dicipating properties suck and will cause them to warp easily. That has been my personal experience on a couple different vehicles. Now, I usually get something priced in the middle of the spectrum. When it comes to metal parts that are machined, you do get what you pay for most times.

is the inner pad not seated properly or the outer pad? i'm guessing it's the inner. just take the pad out, bend the clips out and put it back on. i had the same problem. nice project car

FITS , 1996-2001 A4 Non Quattro , 2 wheel drive only

if it fit other cars they would definately mention that to widen the number of potential customers. if it doesnt list your car, it doesnt fit your car.

thanks for clearing that up! Would i just be better off getting some rotors from pepboys like the raybestos brand? I feel like there is no need to upgrade the brakes since i feel that the car has plenty of stopping power.
