Default My Baby in bad shape

**Update** So yea I have been told that they found a piece of a camshaft seal or something in the oil pan, and there is a 1/4 to 1/2" play in the camshaft, so now does anyone know where to get a new/used engine at?

So I just got the CEL diagnosed and i have to replace my camshaft. I just got done replacing the solenoid valve for the camshaft adjuster(100 Bucks down the shi**er). So now that I have to replace the camshaft ($700 part quote on just the camshaft does this sound right?), so I might as well go ahead and do the timing belt and the water pump while the front is off. Can anyone think of anything else to do while getting this done preventative maintenance wise? Any suggestions for a camshaft? OEM or other?

You mean cam chain tensioner? A cam shaft should never need replaced. You don't need to remove the front either way.

Did you go to a dealer for this?

You're probably best off getting the head used and having an independent shop do the work.
