Default General questions about 02-05 A4

Hello,

I have been in the market for an 02-04 A4 and want to know if there are things to look out for. Are there certain problems that these cars have? Are the 1.8T engine reliable, or are the 6 cylinders better? What are the different packages that these A4's come with? Are there any quick fixes for the peeling issue with the butons/switches?

Thanks in advance!

There's no quick fix. For your other question, read every thread on the first 2 forum pages. If you still need help after that let us know.

Search for engine preference, this was discussed on here recently a few times.

As for the peeling issue, yes replace the switch and/or console.

Overall 3.0's are more reliable. 1.8t's are a headache as soon as you start modding them but if you get into modding they are your better choice. ( I know that makes no sense) Research and find out more info on them. There's plenty throughout the forums. And yeah the peeling will plague you as long as you have a B6.
