Default Rebuilding the rear calipers

So, since I can't afford a couple hundred bucks worth of rear calipers, I decided to try and rebuild them myself for about 25 bucks. I have a funny feeling that I might be in over my head, but if I can get the damn leaking to stop long enough to sell the beast, then all is well that ends well (for me, not the poor guy who buys my car).

So, with that being said, I'll have the parts tomorrow. Any tips, words of advise, or anything along those lines before I venture into the garage? Fortunately, they told me to take 2 weeks off before I deploy, so I should have ample time to get this done and sold!

Just be clean, clean, and even cleaner.... Other than that, its a fairly simple job.

Soooo, invest in a little brake parts cleaner and make sure I clean the hell outta the calipers once I get them out... Is that what you're saying? Sounds fairly simple...

Grease the sliding pieces as well and you should be fine. Great experience too, although I think you could get a pair of them off a part-out cheap enough.

Yep... pretty much. Just make sure there's NO dirt on the piston and seals when it goes back together.

Just out of curiousity, when I pull the calipers out, how should I stop the brake fluid from leaking out the hoses?

You really should just let it drain then flush/bleed, but you can use something like these:
