Hi, i have a question about my 2006 audi a4's adaptive headlights, i was thinking of replacing my stock xenons because my passanger light keeps flickering and turning off n then i have to turn the lights off an turn them bak on for it to work for another little while until it happens again, rather then replacing random parts i think getting a new kit will be cheper.

my question is if i put aftermarket hid's on my aud will the adaptive lights stop working ie. will it stop turning with the steering wheel.

The bulb/ballast you use shouldn't affect the adaptive functionality.

 

This is a pretty hot topic. I personally think it's the ballasts that are making the lights flicker. Let us know if changing the bulb does anything to help the flicker though!

 

I'm having the same thing on my '06 A4! Flicker flicker ... out. Switch the lights off then on, wala they work?? The dealer told me it's the balast, +$500, . But my adaptive is also now not functioning, see the warning on the dash? Dealer told me $1000 for the one piece headlight assembly! I spoke to private VW, Audi shop, they mentioned possible corrosion for the adaptive but the balast is the culprit on the flickering. For the $$ I'll probably live with the flicker and without the adaptive.
