TT 180 fwd
hey guys, i have a 2000 audi tt 1.8 fwd all stock. i wanna start with an exhasut. what exhaust system is the best for me. i've seen some Borla exhaust systems for around 700$, that seems pricy but i want an exhaust that will give me the most power. I heard Miltek was good too. And anyone know anything about turbo manifolds? any other suggestions on what i should do with my TT, please let me know.
Thanks
Thanks
I'd start with a chip, then move to an exhaust. I know an exhaust will make your car sound alot better, but I'd rather be managing my engine better before I made it sound better. I'm trying to decide which chip to go with for myself right now, its either gonna be a GIAC or APR. I have a 2000 1.8 Q

yeah, maybe i will go with a chip first. I've seen those statistics for the APR chip and it seems to give you more power then the GIAC chip. But mostly everyone with the TT on this forum have the GIAC, adn that makes me think twice about the APR chip. And also does anyone know anything about upgrading the turbo for my 180HP fwd TT ?? Thankss
ehh, I think you're jumping way ahead if you're planning on a turbo swap already. Its not as easy as swapping one for the other. Check out the A4 forum, TomRitt has one awesome car. He's done alot of work, including turbo swaps, just take a look at the crapload of stuff he's had to do, and the stuff he deals with on a daily basis, to keep his car performing.
Personally, I'd stick with a chip, exhaust, and cold air intake until I was really sure what I was doing. (coincidentially, thats exactly my plan).
Good luck.

I just had the Revo software installed in my stock '00 180 FWD, and it makes it feel like a different car. Much more passing power and a lot more fun to drive. I don't know if I want to do many more power mods after this, as I think it would just induce torque steer. I'm very happy with this mod, though.
