1992 Honda Civic... That's where it's at.
I know, I know... It's a Honda Civic. But if you're going for cheap performance, you can't beat the bang for the buck with them. Let's break down a little pricing here...
-1992 Honda Civic DX Hatchback - $500 in bad condition
-B18B2 (Acura Integra LS) engine - $250
-Integra GS-R Transmission - $250-$500
-B-Series Axels - $50-$100
-Chipped OBDII ECU - $200 Chipped
-HASport Mounts - $250
-KRB-FAB Log 302ss Manifold and Downpipe Combination Package - $450
-T3 53trim Turbocharger - $150
-TiAL 38mm wastegate - $100
-BOV of choice - Anywhere from $100-$150
-Intercooler piping - $150
-Intercooler - $100
-Oil Feed and Return line/coolant line kit - $50
-P14 370cc Injectors with Resistor Box - $75
-Golden Eagle Vaccum Log - $50
-Good Tune With Stand-Alone System (i.e CROME, überdata, Neptune, Honda S300, AEM EMS, etc) - I get mine done for about $60 an hour... This tune would take about an hour and a half.
-Miscellanious Installation Parts - Around another $50
That set-up would be good for about 350bhp on stock internals, on 10psi, and about 270bhp at 7psi (Most efficient boost level for stock engine). Now, you can't have triple, or quadruple your power levels, without upgrading your braking and suspension set-up, especially with Civics... So let's figure that in as well.
-LS Integra Front Brake Assembly - $100
-Tokico Illumina 5-Way Adjustables with Springs - $500
-Eibach Front and Rear Sway Bars - $130-$150
-SKUNK2 Front Camber Adjust Kit - $120
Now, that suspension will do just fine with those power levels, you could even get away with MUCH lower quality struts and springs, but those Illuminas are the best bang for the buck set-up. Now it's not a good idea to be sliding around on stock wheels and tires... Best, cheapest way to go about wheels and tires for these Honduh Civics...
-1996-2000 Honda Civic HX Wheels - $100-200
-Kumho Ecsta MX/Falken Azenis/etc 195/55/14 Tires - $350-450
Now gut the interior a bit, because with Hondas, weight is the enemy... And now you've got yourself a car that will run 12's, tear up the Auto Cross, do great on the Road Course, and do just a good on the street.
As you can probably tell, I do this Honda stuff a lot. Hahahaha
