Hey guys im new to the audi scene and i just had a few questions.

I have a 02 audi A4 1.8t with trip. on it and im liking how quiet it is but i want to add mods to make it faster. The only problem is some of the mods will make the car louder which i dont want to happen. Is there any suggestions besides a new chip that anyone could help me with??

you have a TIP tranny and thats really gonna limit you in performance, engine has great potential but the automatic tranny can hold it down
if u get a CLASSY and NICE exhuast system they arent that loud like a farting ricer exhuast
if a chip doesnt satify you with power you can always go a step higher and upgrade your injectors for more TQ and get a FMIC

 

Yeah just go APR stage 1+ and consider the GIAC tip-chip

 

yeah a chip and tip chip , DV and n75 valve will supposedly make it a whole new car and the only thing that will be slightly louder is the whine from the turbo.

ps an auto may not dyno as high in hp and torque as a manual but when you get into seriouse power at the strip an a/t will be ALOT more consistant. That and all the big boys making seriouse power use auto.

 

that is definately an agreeable point... a turbo car is inconsistent enough, it literally depends on the weather, so the benefits of an auto at the track cant be beat... BUT its not as much fun to drive... sorry

 

MUCH agreed, there is alot of fun factor lost, although tip mode helps a bit its still not the same. But these days I fiond myself commuting in traffic more then cruising an open twisty.[:@]
