I have a stock 2001 s4, with winter tires on right now. Was at a light w/ an older guy in his 6.0L GTO. Didn't think he was racing, so didn't rev up or anything, but once I started accelerating I heard him punch it and did the same. Through first gear he already had a car length on me, and around 65 he had 2 so I just let off. Am I supposed to lose to that car? If I was chipped w/ apr, would I have won (assuming I can drive well)?

The 2005 is equipped with a 6.0l 400hp Ls2. And the 04 has a 5.7l 350hp Ls1.

i know somebody with an 05, its pretty quick, i bet if you really wanted to you could beef ur car up enough, ive seen b5 s4's with 400+ and they are a lot lighter than a GTO

I don't know of too many cars under 50,000 bucks that could beat a GTO. Those things are sick. If the interior wasn't so cheap, I would buy one. All that money they ask for them is going towards the engine. I would buy one in a heart beat if they suped up the interior.

A buddy of mine has an 00 s4 with the stg III + awe package. It will KILL a GTO. He has about 450whp on 93 octane.
With just a chip, you will be looking at 275whp.....would be a pretty good race with a GTO.

another 0-60 car, or even a 1/4. nothing more than a steel sled.

duh...nah itll definetly take at least a stage 2+ to keep up with the 5.7 gtos, and a full out k04 system to match the new ones

People really buy those new GTO's? Why They weigh too much for what they are suppose to be. My buddy's 350z toasted two of them. new GTO's suck
try launching at 3700-4000 rpm. thats where i do when race, otherwise taking off without boost is a waste of time. chirping all 4 is good, just not all the time.
