I just finished doing a "stealth" V1 install in my 2002 A4 1.8T. Here's some pics to show what I did.
The V1 itself is inside a visor pouch to make it invisible to thieves and nosy cops. I cut holes in the pouch for the wire and the laser sensors.
I was able to run the wire up the A pillar without interfering with the air bags. When I pulled the trim off, there was a hose (probably the drain hose for the sunroof) held in with clips, so I inserted the wire into those clips, so the wire is completely clear of the airbag but is still nicely tucked inside the pillar.
I also found a great place to stick the concealed display. I pulled out the credit card tray in the stereo/climate console and put the display there. It almost looks like it came with the car. See the pics below.
Preparing the pouch. In this pic I have the V1 on top of the pouch, and am in the process of cutting the hole for the front laser sensor.

Here's a Nightshot photo of the V1 in the pouch showing the front laser sensor is visible through the hole.

Here's a hole I cut to expose the rear laser sensor.

This hole is for the power cord.

Here's where I mounted the remote display. It is located between the ESP button and the hazard flashers button, in the top of the cluster.

Here's another shot, with power turned on so the LEDs are lit.

This shows where I wired into the fuse panel.

Here's the pouch in its place. That stack of foam tape and Velcro above the visor is there to shim the visor to make the V1 level.

I mounted a kill switch under the dash, in case I want or need to turn off the V1.

Here's a couple more pictures of the pouch.
