yup today i just got my a4 gotta say im liking it alot!!! i just got to get used to driving stick, this is my 1st manual car i feel bad for my clutch. hardest part im finding to do is lauch i stall it a whole bunch of times when im letting up the clutch when im at a stop in 1st gear. any advice?

 

You'll get the hang of it. Just takes time.

Only things I can say is just work on it in a parking lot. Practice is always the best tool for learning.

im avioding hills right now lol im just trying to get used to lauching and to figure out when to press the gass as to not make my clutch burn. atleast i havnt grineded anything yet. just get some weird smells somtimes and somtimes it like to buck. but im getting a hang of it slowly.

 

Haha dont start trying to launch before you are VERY comfortable with driving a stick. Especially not with a quattro, its a great way to burn through a clutch very quickly. Any pics of the car??

 

I drove mine today, also first time stick driver, popping into first takes some work for some reason, could that be a poor clutch?

 

what do you mean popping it into first?

 

You have to push in the clutch and then put it in 1st, its easier then putting it in 1st without the clutch pushed in Maybe you two should drive crap cars before you ruin your audi's [sm=icon_rock.gif]

 

hahahaha miked...i believe he means launching from first gear (not a racing launch). Thats funny, i hope nobody would be stupid enough to start trying to launch their car hard if they are just learning stick.

Yeah man it just takes a lot of practice. Over time you will become very comfortable. Good luck, and have fun!
