Default Do the 2.8's normally have an whineing type sound?

I was just wondering if this is normal for the 2.8's. Seeing that I am new to Audi my 96 Avant will start to make a whineing type sound when I give it gas while driveing. only seems to do it when accelerating and then when the tranny shifts it stops and does it again untill it reaches a lower rpm.

I read a post on audiworld of another kid saying his mothers 93 A100 does the same thing and being that the car is the same he also stated that if it was normal. Just wondering.

Electrical interference from the spark plug wires or alternator is playing through your speakers. When you give it enough gas, it generates a magnetic field that can be heard. Happened on my old Honda.
