94 coupe starting problems
hello all
hopefully someone can help me..
i have the above car (2L 16V) it ran fine with no problems until last week when it had a a big oil leak, since then its had a new clutch, sump gasket, seals etc, it has also recently had new plugs etc, since its been done its refusing to start properly and dies in first gear or under 2k revs, the fuel pump and starter cable were ok before and im guessing messing with the rest of the engine wont have effected them. the engine turns over fine but just wont start up until the fourth or fifth try and then it sometimes dies, and really dies when pulling away in first (like those important times at roundabouts and junctions...)sometimes stalling, sometimes just juddering like hell...[:@][:@]
im sure its a common problem of some description, so any ideas gratefully received.

its a 1994 2L 16V 140BHP coupe, i see that my problem is similar to others here, you can hear the pump start up when you turn the key, but the engine turns over but never actually starts, when it did it just died pulling away in first and starts stuttering badly, but seems ok in any gear once going if you keep it over 1000rpm (otherwise its chugging again), im now guessing it may be a connection to the fuel pump or the pump itself, would clogged filters have this much of an effect? ive had the electrics in the engine all checked over recently so im happy with that end of things.
thanks
thanks
