Default 80' E 2.0 auto 1989 Coolent fan problems

I have a 1989 audi 80 E 2.0, and recently the coolant fan has started coming on with the ignition, even when the engine is cold, and stays on all the time untill the ignition is switched off, so if anyone knows what the problem is can they please let me know, thanks.

change the sender in the radiator there is only one in there so you cant make a mistake, its a safety override when it goes down to prevent overheating
