does anyone know how to run with only fogs on w/out the headlights on??? Is there some VAG-COM thing i can do to enable, or does it require sodering?

 

Why do all these people want to runonly fogs. Foglights help you seen in fog having no headlights defeats the purpose of the fog light. JEEZ!!!!

 

i agree with 04a4. not for nothing but my headlights suck and i have one of the best bulbs they make. without the fog lights my headlights would be worthless. i think the fogs put out enoguh power to eliminate the headlights and would like to be able to turn on the fogs without tunring on the headlights.

 

why do you want only foglights? foglights are angled toward the ground to light up the lines on the road so you dont drive on the worng side and crash.

 

I want to be able to run with fogs so when i get my Body Kit - no i'm not doing anything extreme, I want the Full Reiger front bumper RS4 look - I would like to install HID fogs and be able to run with just the fogs on....Currently i have Headlights from German junkyard and have AMG HID's installed in them, so they are bright purple but still allow me to see fine

 

Why dont you just unplug your headlights are not put a bulb in there? why pay for the HID foglights? buy a HID kit for your lowbeams then you would never turn on your fog lights again. should be the same price.

 

I have HID's in my headlights.... I am going to run Dual HID's, Headlamps and Fogs.... But i would like the option to run with only the fogs on and not the headlamps

 

Its illegal in california. Check your local laws.. Theres some wiring you'll have to do.. Get your wiring diagram and take a long hard look at it and see if you can hard wire your fog light switch to be on with the key, rather than with the headlights.

that's what i was afraid of, I was hoping that there would be a VAG-COM thing i could flash to the computer to make the fogs work.... The laws out here are very lax on that kind of stuff.... A buddy of mine had a 96 M3 and the fogs worked that way stock and he never was hassled for it

for the b5'ers search for independant foglight mod... for the b6'ers i really have no clue
