sometimes in second gear the car (2001 A3 1.8t sport)momentarilyloses a bit of power then picks up almost straight away, this only happens quite rarely.im not sure whether or not its turbo lag but if itisnt what do i do?thanks

 

How low down the revs? Is it just a slight stutter at pick up when in traffic? Do you do a lot of town driving?

If so, try getting the throttle body cleaned.

Throttle body off, a spray round with carb cleaner, a wipe, throttle body back on, reset with Vagcom.

1/2 hour labour if you don't do it yourself.

 

As low down as 2000rpm and yes its exactly like u said itsjust a slight hesitation then it picks up again.I do a ridiculous amount of town driving too.thanx 4 the tip.
