I am proud to say that I am an Audi owner because I believe they are the best cars in the world. Problem is, I have a 2001 A4 1.8T I bought about four months ago that went kaput. I was told by my local shop that the motor is blown. Mainly cuz they are friends of mine is the reason I took my car there but the are a Honda shop and I don't wanna say I don't trust their opinion. But here is what happened, Supposedly my timing belt ripped apart and they said my motor is blown. What should I do and if I do need a new motor, where should I get it. Someone please help me because I don't wanna drive my old bmw around. Thanks

fit a new timing belt and see if its damaged the valves before you take it apart, if its damaged the valve its a top end rebuild and the bottom end will be ok ( have the cylinder head skimmed and dont cut corners on a cheap fix ) the engine isn't blown at all just a top end job
