The newb question- where are folks positioning jack stands for tranny services...just working with a lowly floor jack here...leery of all the aluminum and cast suspension pieces...whats load bearing?

Inane question- were should I look for the clip to pul off the lug bolt caps? Didn't find it in the toolkit...dealer item? All my caps are stripped off...4.2L w/17" rims..
