can't really help you with how long the TT will last but I just bought a 2000 Audit TT, Quattro, fully loaded and in great shape with 99,000 km (60,000 miles) here in Vancouver, BC. I had a compression test done for $100 as well as the standard mechancal check. The compression was excellent

I paid $26,500 (Cdn) which is about $21,000 (US). Tough to compare as two different markets (there hardly any TT's in Vancouver) and yours has much more mileage on it but the more info you have the better.

 

i would just check to see if the maintances are all up to date and try to find as many service records as possible to see how well the car has been taken care of the 1.8T is a very good engine
