Default 2001 A6 crackling, popping speakers

I have had constant problems with my speakers. The radio/cdand speakers arenot the Bose system. Several of my speakers have had to be replaced but the most irritating problem is one that is intermittant. Some of the speakers just start to crackle and pop at fairly high volumes, even when the radio is turned off. Has anyone experience this problem? Seems that when I bring the car into Audi, they cannot get the system to duplicate this problem and, therefore, say they cannot diagnose the problem or perform a repair.

Check the speaker connections if they were replaced with aftermarket speakers. The connections probably came loose or I would check to see if it had to do with the connections on the stock bose amp in the trunk. The amp is hidden and mounted on the plastic enclosure of the stock sub. It's behind the mat on the passenger side of the trunk.

try checking the soldering on the back of the speakers and also check to make sure that everything is making contact. it doesn't sound like the headunit's bad if it's only one speaker that's doing it, so if you can't visually see anything wrong, try running a new wire from the headunit back to the speaker (you don't have to actually hide it or anything, it's just to test connectivity) because i'd be willing to bet that you might have a break in the wire somewhere that leads to that speaker.
