Hi Again

Another post from me... 51 reg (2001) A3 1.8T... My car has recently developed a strange problem when starting sometimes... it starts perfectly that then the accelerator will not respond and the car just instantly dies without idling, after about four or five attempts it will eventually kick in and away I go... I`ve noticed the immobiliser light flashes (orange car with a key) after the engine has stalled (goes out after car is successfully started), I checked this in the manual and it said this could be a problem with the battery in the keyfob... I have tried using my spare keyfob but the same occurs... I haven`t noticed any problem with the running once it is started and no other warning lights are active...

Any ideas... i really don`t fancy another visit to the garage to pay diagnostic charges for something simple....
