Default A PROUD NEW OWNER OF AN A3 WHO NEEDS SOME ADVICE

Hi All
I have just recently purchased a 2001 Audi A3 1.8T and am wanting more power. Now the honest truth is im a 23 yr old female who know a bit bout cars HOWEVER not enough to know what mods can be done to an A3 without killing the car alltogether andliving in Australia not too many mechanicsknowwhats best for an Audiso having said that can anybody give me any ideas????????????

I don't have an A3 yet myself, but I can tell you that a Chip is always the best bang for your buck on a 1.8T, or any turbo for that matter.
After that you can start looking at exhausts, intakes, downpipes, etc.
I'm sure plenty more people will chime in with more specifics.

Agreed. You will see the most performance increase for your money with a chip (also referred to as a software re-flash or ECU). If you search this forum, you will get plenty of info on who does it, and what it costs. You should expect somewhere in the $500 - $700 range (U.S.) Some chip manufacturers for Audi are APR, Neuspeed, and Revo. There are many other performance mods you can do like exhaust or suspension that will make a big difference as well. Look around here a bit and you'll get plenty of ideas and help. Good luck!
