Default low boost/cooling system after accident

Hello
The wife got hit in my USP last week (04 1.8T, FWD). Next morning cooling fans were roaring upon start up (first time I ever recall hearing them). Get car fixed, driving home and my GIAC stage 1+ turbo does nothing special. Feels like stock. Everyone at the body shop swears the battery was not disconnected. Ran the scanner on it and in addition to my usual codes (test pipe) it said cooling system malfunction. Could this be dialing back the boost? Or is it a coincidence and maybe my N75 finally took a walk? car has a smidge over 45,000 miles. DV is new and worked fine up untill today's drive.
Any thoughts?
